About Us

Market

Broadband connections to the Internet and institutional networks are often available only at a great cost to business and institutions.  Rural locations, and some not so rural, can only obtain such connections at an even greater cost.  Traditional providers, such as Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs) often have little or no competition in providing high-speed broadband connections.  Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs) and Cable Television Companies provide an alternative, but often only in a limited area.   Fibre Optic One overcomes these obstacles by designing, building and maintaining networks that utilize the most cost efficient means to provide reliable broadband connections tailored to the customer’s needs.  When a cost effective fiber network connection does not exist, Fibre Optic One can design, build, activate and maintain a customized telecommunications link.

Resources

Through its affiliation with M&D Cable Company, Fibre Optic One has access to an experienced staff of telecommunications construction professionals.  Senior managers bring an average of 24 years each in telecommunications construction and operations management.  M&D has long been recognized in the Appalachian region as a key provider of telecommunications construction expertise and has provided services for Adelphia Communications, Ameritech/ SBC, AT&T, Charter Communications, Comcast, FiberNet and Time Warner Cable.  Experienced, full time crews are available for aerial and underground cable placement, testing and certification, and fiber optic testing and splicing.

Our Goals

Fibre Optic One’s goal is to increase broadband deployment and thus availability to institutional and commercial users located primarily within the Appalachian areas of Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and adjacent states. We will provide broadband connectivity at prices which are affordable to the entities who need this service, but now find it either unavailable or unaffordable.  We will accomplish this goal by forming working partnerships with existing providers where they have capacity in place and will design, construct and maintain any new facilities required to service the end user.
